Pantour in the News...
"A
HEAVENLY HUB"
More Consumer Reviews are here
as seen in BICYCLE RETAILER magazine, Vol. 10, No 8, May 15, 2001:
Pantour Does Road Suspension
Simple
ESCONDIDO, CA - Pantour is introducing
a line of integrated, trailing
arm suspension hubs. Its first hub,
a road hub, provides a half inch of travel
and weighs 210 grams (7.4
ounces). With a half inch of travel the hub pro-
vides a smooth ride with llittle
or no weight penalty. "Add our hub to a steel
road bike with a steel fork and
it provides a much better ride than a carbon
fiber fork upgrade," said Morten
Lund, Pantour's president. The integrated
trailing arm design also controls
lateral movement at the rim, and is tunable
to the rider's weight. Pantour recommends
using Vector rims because their
tall braking surface allows for
consistent braking throughout the wheel's
travel. The hubs also are easy to
service. Pantour plans to release a rear hub
for road bikes soon. For information

Bikes & Products of the Year 2002
Product of the Year – Pantour Suspension Hub
Finding a decent suspension
fork for a recumbent bicycle has been a
difficult and often expensive
quest. Most offerings are either sub-par or
extremely expensive. This
year Pantour introduced a product that will
hopefully change all of
that. Their new suspension hub still isn’t cheap,
but its half-inch of quality
travel is just what the doctor ordered for
road-going recumbents.
It’s not going to allow you to go bombing down the
DH course at Mt. Snow,
but it will definitely take the edge off a poorly
paved street.
